There is no spirit of frenzy mentioned in the Bible. However, when fear, pride, and other spirits work in unison to create chaos, it looks like a spirit of frenzy. The gang spirits work together until the atmosphere is charged with drama! It is wise to understand how this group of drama demons work to make sure we are not influenced by the frenzy!
Frenzied Emotions are Unreasonable & Irrational Behavior
Is it reasonable for a group of people to side with a murderer and turn on an innocent man to kill him? I don’t think so! But, that’s what happened in Mark 11:1-15! It’s likely that some of the same people in the crowd that praised Jesus later demanded His crucifixion while they pleaded for the release of a murderer.
The situation escalated until the mob would not listen to reason. Irrational behavior is a telling sign of the plot of chaos and possibly a gang of demons working in unity.

Frenzied Emotions Create a Dangerous & Violent Environment
In Acts 17:5-9, we see incredible conversions when Paul preached. The Jews, however, became jealous and stirred up a mob to harm Paul. The crowd became violent and dragged some men out of town. Demon gangs of fear, murder, pride, and idolatry turned the city into a confused frenzy!
Gang Demons Create Panic & Murder
The scriptures above along with Acts 21:26-35 describe a recognizable pattern of gang spirits.
The pattern here makes frenzy recognizable:
- The situation quickly escalated from a few disgruntled accusers to a whole city feeling disturbed.
- Often those involved in the mobs were reacting to the panic and had no idea why they were in such a frenzy!
Modern-Day Frenzy & Panic
I can’t think of a better modern example than the great toilet paper frenzy of 2020! People fought for toilet paper and collected it like precious gems. The fear and panic of no TP caught on so quickly that shelves depleted and brawls over the rolls of tissue broke out.
Another modern oddity of the spirit of frenzy happens during ball games. College students paying to seek a higher education have been caught doing wild and irrational things like burning couches, throwing punches, or tipping over cars! It doesn’t stop there, Psychology Today reported that NFL Losses Are Associated with Increased Domestic Violence.
Consequences of the Spirit of Frenzy when it Escalates
Anytime a demon is present, there is confusion, chaos, and no good thing. If one demon is difficult, what kind of effect does a gang of demons have on a family, a culture, or a work environment? We have to get wiser and recognize when a demonic strategy is in play. Consider the following consequences of not discerning a frenzied situation properly:
- Irrational Behavior
- Murder and Violence
- Illegal Activity
- Mass Confusion
- Persecution of innocent
- Poor Decision Making
